Chris and Chandra Hosek

The “Dynamic Duo” of Chris and Chandra (C.J.) Hosek, also known as H2 Strategic Communications, handles the various aspects of Alliance communications including social media, public relations, and media relations.

Chandra Hosek co-founded H2 Strategic Communications in 2012, building upon a 20-year career in corporate and agency communications. She specializes in high-impact writing, research, and public relations programs for technology companies, associations, and other entities. She enjoys analyzing the confluence and divergence of organizations, technologies, and markets.

Her work spans software, hardware, and services companies in energy, security, project portfolio management, collaboration, video conferencing, IT operations, executive management, and other segments.

Chandra has a bachelor’s degree in public relations from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri. She spent a semester studying in England as a William Jewell Oxford Honors Scholar. In addition, she has a master’s degree in speech communication from Texas State University in San Marcos.

Chris Hosek has more than 20 years of experience in political communications, media relations, and legislative policy. As principal and co-founder of H2 Strategic Communications, he specializes in developing communications plans, strategies, and messaging, as well as providing crisis communications expertise to clients.

Chris is also a principal of Texas Star Alliance, specializing in direct lobbying and state agency relations. He has experience with a broad range of legislative issues and policy initiatives, including specific expertise in the energy sector.

For five years, Chris served as the Chief of Staff to the Chair of the Railroad Commission of Texas. In addition to running the Commission, he was responsible for message development, communications planning, media relations, crisis communications, and speech writing, and also served as the official media spokesman for the Chairman.

The Railroad Commission is the regulatory body that oversees Texas’ energy industries, including all levels of the oil and gas industry, pipeline safety, gas utility rates, and the permitting and reclamation of coal and uranium mines.

Prior to his work at the Railroad Commission, Chris was a legislative director in the Texas House of Representatives for the 78th and 77th sessions. He served as the House’s committee aide to the Appropriations Committee, responsible for drafting the state’s two-year budget, and as a committee aide on the House Energy Resources Committee. He has also worked on the Urban Affairs and State Recreational Resource Committees.
