"Jobless Recovery"? Absolutely Not

AUSTIN, Texas (Feb. 1, 2018)—Last month, we highlighted the fact that the industry appears to be doing more with less, producing record amounts of crude oil at a lower rig count, with fewer drilling permits issued, and yes, with fewer employees compared to the peak industry employment levels in late 2014. That does not mean, however, that NO jobs have been added over the course of the current recovery—to the contrary upstream oil and gas employment nationally, in Texas, and in the Permian has grown very steadily since reaching its cyclical low point in 2016.

A Rebuttal: Fossil Fuels Fuel the World

Editor’s Note: The Democratic National Committee (DNC) recently passed a resolution stating they will no longer accept campaign donations from fossil fuel companies. As one of the largest trade energy associations in the country, the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers works on sound energy policy, no matter what party is in office. We support candidates and parties that believe in a strong, robust domestic energy industry.

AUSTIN, Texas (Jan. 1, 2018)—The benefits of fossil fuels and the bountiful opportunities they have given to mankind should be celebrated, not disparaged. To deprive our world of this energy resource would be a humanitarian and even genocidal crime of unprecedented proportions.
